I’m pretty sure this will end up the same way. The fact that you can’t install straight away from the image link I provided you is not good - and I think also explains why the update isn’t working. Something has changed in between which makes your unit fail…
You don’t have a ‘Display 1’ lying around, do you?
I’m confused. The image I gave you earlier did not work at all: no booting system, no way to reach the web interface.
Now, with the latest image, you are talking about ‘running configure’… so something is happening, right? Can you reach the web interface? Or what do mean with ‘running configure’?
Two RPi4s and one RPi3b (with display 1), all functioning as expected. Zone selection seems to be working, also.
Two RPi4s are on RoPieee 2025.03 (2248) [BETA]. Kernel version: 6.6.78-SPCKFSH-v8+
One RPi3B is on RoPieee 2025.03 (2245) [BETA]. Kernel version: 6.6.78-SPCKFSH-v7+

Yes. Something is happening, but after this screen(image attached) the screen goes black and nothing else happens. I am not able to access it through the web interface(ropieee.local), I have also checked under the audio settings in Roon and under “Devices” through the web interface of my other 2 Pi’s with Ropieee. No the device isn’t showing up on either. The status light on the Pi 5 is solid Orange
Thank you for your efforts @spockfish. The latest image does the same behavior as before. Boot screen comes on. No action after that and no access via IP address and solid orange status light on Pi.
Question is what to do now. I would love to see what is exactly going on… I also think I know why your unit is causing issues (and many other Pi5s, including my own are working fine): you have a newer revision (1.1 vs 1.0), which requires some changes.
Would it be possible for you to mount the ‘Display 1’ on the 5 and try again?
The ‘Display 1’ shows more stuff out of the box, which might help in figuring out what’s going on.
If not, which I totally understand, I’ll buy myself a new Pi5 to figure it out locally.
Apropos nothing, once this thread settles down, I’m going to probably move one of my systems from an Yggdrasil to a Holo Cyan 2, which means that I won’t need my Pi2AES any more, and I can buy a Display 2 and move my Pi4 over to it.
Ok, so Display 2 works with Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.5 on RoPieee 2025.03 (2248) [BETA].
Display 1 with Raspberry Pi 5 isn’t working. Display never turned on (which is fine) and IP access isn’t available. This is with Beta 2025.03 (2253) that you provided earlier. Status light blinks from Red to Orange.
