BETA Release 20260727 (3943)

Hi,

Another beta release…

This fixes several issues:

  • the issue reported by @Andreas_Zeugswetter, related to Librespot
  • introducing Squeezelite max sample rate (properly this time)
  • fixing an convenience switch issue with RoPieee Spinner

The issue reported by Andreas pointed me to a bigger issue: with the support for HDMI I needed to refactor the selection of devices, and detection of hardware mixers. Long overdue, but necessary. That refactor had some regressions, but I think we’re almost there.

About the release… this was scheduled for this month, but end of next week I’m on holiday. So i’m leaning to postponing the release until I’m back. As we’re going to Sweden, pretty much in the middle of nowhere, I don’t want to take the risk.

I tried two times to update to 3943 but after the update task I’m always on 3942 and there is still the option to update to 3943

@spockfish
I also have the same issue as @Stefano_Antonelli .
I upgraded one RoPieee, but it gives afterwards version 3942 with the possibility to upgrade to 3943.
And that upgrade after upgrade.

Kind regards, Frank.

Same here Harry. Something is amiss.

It’s the same here as well, the update starts but reverts to available on completion.

Same here :frowning:

Can someone check? I think your systems actually did update, but something went wrong in my CI/CD. You can check if you have the new version by seeing if the max sample rate on the squeezelite page ‘sticks’. So setting it to something else then 48k, save it, and go back to the same page.

In the previous release it resetted back to 48k, in the ‘3943’ release it sticks.

Verified. Your systems are actually updated, but a bug in my CI/CD pipeline, results in a mismatch between build numbers.

(for those paying attention: the build numbers are now ‘synced’ between various models: that sometimes causes confusion in the past. but I introduced a bug with building that  )

Okay, will the bug be fixed or not? And do I have to wait for the next beta version for that?

Yes, the sample rate “sticks” for me.

FWIW: The update banner and the update radio buttons are still showing on all devices.

Edit: feedback sent, if you need it: 10586661240aec8e

Thanks. But the issue is clear. This will resolve with the next beta.

Can confirm that Squeezelite max sample rate is working. I guess I’m on 3493 even though it says 3492 and keeps trying to install 3493?
