Most used remote control is a Microsoft Surface 2 notebook. Less used are iPads - these are the only items using wireless access.

I had hoped to have Roon as smart as it once was by moving files from 2 older HDDs onto a newer unit. That move was successfully achieved with help from posters here and did improve access but not as dramatically as first thought. Editing can be a bit of a PIA as one waits for some items to slowly load. This time lag can be in editing the album title or Artists or just inserting one of the custom tags. Frequently I’m told there are no tags available but the list does eventually appear. There appears no consistency with all this as access is sometime quick, yet other times very slow. A few times latelty Roon has crashed while editing tags in an album.

Being only semi literate (which some might more accurately describe as “ignorant”), I rely on the program Restoro to fix minor PC problems from time to time although I have never found it speeds up editing in Roon.

An annoyance (unrelated to music library size) is the edit, album delete, option using Roon. Sometimes it refuses to delete an album and I suspect Roon is programmed to protect a later file version over an earlier one, possibly assuming the newer one is better. I dislike this because my preference is to be able to delete the newer one to make soom for more files on that drive. Creating more space on an earlier drive is not helpful for me. Bottom line is I now delete using file explorer.

While one album is playing, it is sometimers (note - not always) reluctant to stop that album and access another to start its play. Repeated selections of “Play” is sometimes seemingly ignored and it is necessary to use “stop” on the album playing before another album will start.

Please note I’m generally very happy with Roon and recommend it to others. It is improving over time and there are a lot of nice features there to make music play and enjoyment very satisfying. But hopefully it might improve more to make play and editing in a large library a bit better.

Any suggestions gratefully received!
