The album thumbnail could swap to the artist photo when the album art is in the main panel.
I just really only want to see the cover (the cover I chose) of the album, as big as possible. In classical the whole big artist picture in the background simply does not rock. The pictures are usually low res and cropped strangely, showing only the breast or as in the shot above Sir Georges teeth etc.
On modern living artists it works, even though I still do not prefer it to album cover. But in classical many many recordings are from the 50s, 60s, 70s etc and the artist pics found on the Net or in Roon are simply ridiculously bad.
Plus it gets boring, atleast with album covers they change after a while, just imagine you are listening to all sorts of different recordings of Solti and all you see for hours on end are Sir Georges teeth?!?
PS: I know this is probably not PC, but there are many classical artists that are not visually appealing… I mean really… They are often great artists but not great lookers, so having them rubbed in your face all the time is also not so great. Again something that is different in popular music, or maybe even modern classical recordings, where it seems artists are chosen by looks and not artistry. To make a long post short, please give us the opportunity to atleast just choose only to see the album cover.
I mean iPeng, Apple music, Spotify, Qobuz etc can not all be wrong for choosing that option.
It is also like in the good old vinyl days or even CD days, what did you have laying on your coffeetable whilst listening to music? The album cover! That is what was visually there all the time.
Something like this then
Yes absolutely! Perfect, thanks
