If somewhere in the credits of an album (or even worse ‘boxset’ ) a name is 'credited, the album will show up in the Overview.
Nothing to prevent that.
If those are albums that have been split from big box sets without editing they must appear in almost every search. How useful is the composer view in that case?
Hi @Dirk_De_Taey,
Thanks for the update - our team will continue to investigate this issue internally and attempt specific reproduction.
We don’t have any immediate next steps for you to try at this time. Thank you for your ongoing patience while our team continues to investigate things.
Since there isn’t anything else needed from you at this time, we’ll go ahead and temporarily close this thread until we have updates to share. Thanks again, Dirk! ![]()
Hi @Dirk_De_Taey,
Thanks for your long-standing patience here.
The fastest way for us to pin this down is for you to provide the entire affected box set. You can also use this secure DB uploader, which has a higher size maximum than the standard media uploader link.
We recognize this might take some time to upload, but our team will need the full media for QA to proceed with confidence with testing. Thank you!
Hi Connor
I have uploaded 2 versions of the boxset, 1 version with the metadata after the initial (orig) ripping, the 2nd ‘actual’ version with adapted metadata trying to correct Roon behaviour.
Dirk
Thank you @Dirk_De_Taey - we’ll share the files with development and will keep you posted on any findings and next steps. ![]()
Hey @Dirk_De_Taey,
Thank you for your very long-standing patience here! Our QA team retested the two Richard Strauss box set packages provided.
They unfortunately were not able to reproduce the reported artwork issue. In both cases, artwork was present and QA did not see grey squares or missing covers. That said, using different media, we are exploring a potential issue around unidentified albums failing to pull album artwork when matched to an album (with art) that may very well help with your case here.
What QA did observe is inconsistent grouping behavior between the two versions: one imported correctly as a single box set, while the other was split into separate CDs/albums. Artwork was still present for all imported items.
At this point, QA can confirm the grouping difference, and we have a ticket in the pipeline to investigate further.
I’m sorry I don’t have a direct solution for you here, especially after all this time. I am confident that planned optimizations in this area may very well help you across the board with your boxsets, though.
