Description Of Issue

I bought a Melco B 100 player for ripping my cds again. The suffix is changing from flac to wav. I am deleting the old cd (under flac) in Roon and copying the new cd (under wav) to my Synology NAS. Everything is working fine. I can play the new inserted cd an the old one is gon. With each new changing ripped cds the number of files roon is searching for in the blue circle is going up, but after that nothing happens. it is still hanging there all the time, without changings…Can you please help me to stop it?

Hello @Winfried_Berlenbach and thanks for your report. May I ask why you’re converting FLAC to wav? Also, can you share a screenshot of the blue circle? Thanks!

I bought the Melco 100 cd player. It has an own ripping program which only makes waves. The Quality of this rips are extremly good, It is much work again, but it is worth it. When I put these new files in my libary a blue running circle appears in the upper right edge near the search symbol. When I touch it there opens a sign with the information that roon is searching. But nothing changes all the time, it is still hanging.

Hi nuwriy, are the Screenshots helpful to Self my Problem?
:flushed:

Hello @Winfried_Berlenbach, those screenshots are definitely pointing us in the right direction! For our next step, I’d like to get logs over to our QA team so we can see why the search is taking so long to identify your tracks.

Please restart Roon and start the scanning process again. When it gets stuck, use the directions found here and send us over a set of logs using this link.

Hi nuwriy, thank you for your report. I made a link by zoho work drive named berlenbach@arcor.de . I have not to start the scanning process, because after opening roon it starts ans stucks by itself.Wish you have a nice day :grinning:

Hello @Winfried_Berlenbach, my apologies for the delayed response here. I did submit those logs to our team for further review, though! I’ll let you know when we’ve finished analyzing them.

Hi Nuwrity did you got any information about analysing my logs? Hope the team could find a resulution.
Greetings Winfried

Hello @Winfried_Berlenbach, thanks for your patience while we investigated! The team requested more information about your network infrastructure, can you elaborate on exactly how things are connected, what router you’re using, any switches present, etc.?

Please also update to version 571 if you haven’t already, try temporarily disabling firewall, VPN, and antivirus and see if you can reproduce this issue. We would be happy to get another timestamp and set of logs from you, the last ones we got were helpful but were very short. The team asked for another set so we can gather more data.

I created a new link for logs here, thanks!

Hello and thank you very much for your answer. First of all, I would like to inform you that wether the latest update for Roon nor turning off the fire wall has not brought any positive change. Regarding my hardware, my NASS and 2 splitters are in another room (room No. 1) next to the music system in room No.2.

Before I changed the music files from flac to wav with Melco D 100-b cd drive I had no problem with the above hardware configuration.

The Melco D 100-b drive sends the new files in wav format directly to the hard disk of the Melco N1A/2EX-H60 . The problem started, after I copied the files from the Melco N1A/2EX-H60 to my NAS.

A new problem is, that I cannot find the ripped files in roon, which were stored in the hard disc of the Melco N1A/2EX-H60. When I make a new storage folder, Roon adds the folder to my NAS storage. When I choose browse I can see „N-1A2EX“. But I get the answer, that the folder is empty. When I store the Roon library in this new folder I can see it, but no music files appear.

When I use my windows computer with the explorer I can see all this files. Melco factory told me, that normally to attach the hard disk of Melco N1A/2EX-H60 over LAN, Roon, has to open a window to ask for a given name and password. But this does not happen when I try to open the new N-1A2EX folder.

Hi Nuwriy, a miracle appeared . I had a shut down of my Network. After that I lost Roon and I had to sign in again. Everything of my music was gone.
I took my last backup for recovering. All Music was in there, but in the Library I found 356 deleted objects. When I quit them, the blue Circle had disappeared. So I am happy, that this problem is gone. But I still cannot reach my Melco N1A -2EX-H60 Network streamers harddisk in Roon. This streamer will next be Roon certificated. I Hope, you can help me to solve this Problem. Best greetings Winfried

Hey @Winfried_Berlenbach, that’s awesome news, now onto the Melco! I know this device is in certification at the moment, but to make sure you understand, are you trying to use it as a NAS?

Hello nuwriy and thanks for your answer.

No, I dont want to use the Melco as a NAS. Remember, the Roon core is fix in the NADAC-Player. To play Roon I anyway have to go through this DAC. I can not directly use the Melco as an musicplayer. It is not able to store the Roon core, even when it is Roon certificated.

From my NAS I go into the LAN input of Melco and from there with the LAN output to the LAN input of the NADAC. When I activate Roon to make a new folder, Roon puts itself the new folder with the Melco (N-1AEX) sign beside the name of my N AS (\nas199benas\audio) “see the screenshots in my previous message”. I cannot do anything to change its place beside the NAS. After making this folder, when I ask Roon for search in N-1AEX folder I got the message “the folder is empty” On the other hand I can use this folder to make a Roon backup in it and I can restore the backup from there.

The NADAC has two usb ports, but unly to use them with a stick or harddisk for music files. As an DAC I have only the LAN option, because the NADAC has no UPNP function. So I cannot use the Melco app. With my windows computer I can reach the Melco hard disk over LAN with the explorer an see all my files.

I hope you can understand this difficult situation and help me.

Best wihes Winfried

Hi Nuwriy,
I am sorry, but rhe blue circle problem appears again. When I want to open Roon by my IPad I got. the message to sign in. Afterwards a message appears that I onlly could have one core on my Nadac. To come out of this Screen I had to choose disconnect. I did. Afterwards I was in my libary again, but the Blue circle is running.

Happy, ist stops
Winfried

Hello @Winfried_Berlenbach, my apologies, I didn’t understand your last message. Did the circle complete its scanning process?

Hello nuwriy, yes, the circle did his complete scanning process till today. I hope, you also can find a solution by your specialists for my Melco Problem. Have a nice day! Winfried

Hy Nuwriy, are there any News about my NADAC Melco Problem. Greetings Winfried
