I have a Bluesound Pulse that I use as a “kitchen” speaker. I would like to use REW to take some measurements then use Roon to import those filters for the speaker. The Pulse has an 3.5mm audio in and I get conflicting information on internet searches if it is a viable way to loop the REW signal. I have used REW a little in the past but when I try the 3.5mm audio in to my laptop it doesn’t work. Thought about using Bluetooth from the computer to the speaker but that doesn’t seem ideal.
My question is has anyone imported REW filters into Roon when using a Bluesound or similar speaker?
Thanks
Scott
Doesn’t it have an optical Toslink input hidden in the 3.5mm jack? If you can find an external sound card with optical output (or if you already have one in your computer) that would be the best way.
I never did that with my Flex 2i’s, as they are for kids to drag around, but I think they all have the same combo digital/analog input in the 3.5mm jack. On my PowerNodes, it worked just fine using a SoundBlaster X4’s optical output (although I had to request a proper ASIO driver from them), although I used FocusFidelity rather than REW. Should work the same though.
Cool, thanks for the additional info. My family uses this speaker more than probably any other sound system in the house, so trying to get the best sound I can make.
