BluOS Nano and PowerNode Edge not listed in Audio settings after reboot (ref#GUD44E)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· BluOS Nano and PowerNode Edge not listed in Audio settings, after rebooting all devices. Roon 2.57 (1598) Mac mini M4, OS 26.2. BlueOS 4.12.11 on both. Mac mini and Nano connected via ethernet to XFinity xb7-t gateway. Mini is set to DHCP. The gateway has a port forwarding role for the Mac mini, set to TCP/UDP port 55000.

I tried cabling the Nano directly to the Mini. The Nano still didn't appear on the Audio devices list in Roon.

The BlueOS devices have been working fine for six months on their own. I set up the Roon server 5 days ago. When I set up the Roon server, the BluOS devices were visible for 2 days, but stopped working and I can't get them back.

Hi @David_Levinson1, this may help …

macOS Sequoia (version 15), has tighter (and more obfuscated) network security settings than preceding MacOS versions.

Can you please navigate to macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network, and make sure Roon and Roon Server are allowed.

If it is already enabled, toggle it off and on again. Then reboot your Mac, and see if the same issue persists.

Hello @David_Levinson1,

We’re sorry to see you have this problem.

We have analyzed the piece of information we were able to retrieve from automated diagnostics report from your machine and can see that your mac is seeing your devices, but upon attempt to establish connection it fails with error “No route to host”.

We assume that the cause of the problem is DHCP responsibilities designated to your Mac PC. Can you please:

1)assign DHCP responsibilities to your router back.

  1. try to temporarily disable IGMP snooping if not disabled yet
  2. restart your Mac, endpoints and router and observe the recommendation given by @Carl, and even if this toggle is already on - please retoggle it.

Let us know please whether it has worked.

Have a nice day!
Regards.

Hi @David_Levinson1,

The latest automated account diagnostics indicate that a Roon Ready BluOS Nano Zone is assosicated with your server. Are we correct in assuming you’ve resolved this issue?

If not, please read on:

You mentioned that you hardwired the BluOS Nano directly to your Mac Mini (I’m assuming via USB) and still saw no corresponding Zone within Roon Settings → Audio?

This strongly suggests that MacOS is limiting Roon’s access to the network, since RAAT would still rely on the loopback interface to connect with the local device.

If you haven’t already, please take the steps within MacOS System Settings to grant Roon local network access. @Carl shared these two posts above.

Let us know if this helps. Thank you!
