Hello,

New to me Bricasti M5 stand alone ROON endpoint Ethernet setup connection assistance.

I currently have an Auralic G1.1 connected via Wi Fi, Streamer, connected to Roon via HP i5 Laptop, Denafrips Terminator/Danacable USB

From what I read the Bricasti is an ethernet only connection. My router is the garden variety standard issue AT&T model.

Firstly I like to get it running, then decide on Network upgraded Rj45, cables

Second, upgrade network switch, English Electric R8?

Last Roon Nucleus One

What are my steps as I’m still unclear as to how to connect everything with the existing laptop/router/roon setup. Do I need to change anything with the Terminator?

Help is appreciated. Starting to get older now and have not kept up with technology.

The Bricasti M5 is Roon Ready, so all you need to do is connect it to the same network as the Roon Server, then launch the Roon control app, go to Settings > Audio, find the Roon Ready section and enable it.

After this you can choose it as an output zone.

You will need some computer to run the Roon Server first. This can be an existing computer (Windows, Mac, Linux), and later you can switch to a Nucleus One if you want to. But the Roon Server as such can’t come last.

No. It’s just digital data, at this point, not music.

Only use a standards compliant non-shielded Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable. For example, from Blue Jean Cable.

And, avoid unnecessary audiophile network switches as they do cannot improve upon a good quality unmanaged switch such as the Netgear GS108.

The setup is completed via laptop windows11/i5/ router, cat6 cable/M5/USB/Terminator DAC

The system is running however several drop outs, unable to play/ jittery/skipping fussy connection intermittently.

Suggestions? Perhaps laptop more sensitive sleep function? How can I disable

A bit frustrating as I had hoped the connectivity would improve dramatically, via Ethernet.

If the laptop is sleeping, this will affect playback. Indeed, if you are set on an upgrade, a dedicated Roon server appliance should be at the top of your list.

To manage sleep, try Caffeine for Windows.

Hoping to better manage Roon. Bricasti Streamer up and running 85% of the time. Skipping and jittering at the next song.

Seems to be a connection issue between Roon and USB output/ Denafrips Terminator DAC when changing hz format applications.

Tried to reduce time in between songs to 500ms and up to 1500ms still occurring

Any suggestions?
