Build 783 bug - Windows Roon remote not connecting to ROCK

After updating my core Roon server to 1.8 build 783, my Windows remote no longer connects. All other remotes are connecting without issue (MacOS, Android). Only Windows seems to be affected.

Here is the what my Windows Roon remote is displaying:

It has been stuck in “Initializing…” .

I have rebooted the Core server, manually installed the latest Roon remote software to Windows. Result is the same.

I’ve noticed this in the logs:

   at Sooloos.SynchronizationContextThread.OnExit()
03/31 19:33:03 Critical: scx: in OnExit: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
   at Sooloos.Broker.Music.Library.EndMutation()
   at Sooloos.Broker.Music.Module.ev_exit()
   at Sooloos.SynchronizationContextThread.OnExit()

Any insight on this would be appreciated.

Eric

Hello @Eric_Josue ,

Sincere apologies for the delay in getting back to you here, it looks like we missed your message among the other Roon 1.8 release feedback. Are you still seeing this issue on the latest build of Roon?

If this issue only impacts your Windows Roon remote, you can try to perform a reinstall of the Roon app on Windows to verify if this helps:

  • Create a Backup of your current database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon”
  • Rename the “Roon” folder to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder

Let us know if this helps, thank you!
