Can android based roon ready daps use Arc?

Hey, im thinking about buying the fiio m11+, which is certified as a roon ready device.

But can i donwload arc onto it, (or any other android based daps for that matter), and access my roon server from it when im out and about?

Cheers

Yes but it won’t be bitperfect playback as it’s not built into ARCs code. Roon Ready is for local network playback on the device so it works like a streamer it has nothing to do with ARC. TBH Arc is better on a phone as ARC sees the Fiios DAC as being 384/24 and will upsample all content to that.

I wish my DAP would at least resample to that. :frowning:

You don’t it drains the battery massively. It’s a pointless step. It also changes dependant on the state of the dac. Sayi play something using Qobuz app and it passes through untouched it lets the os resample if it needs to. So on the FiiO it doesn’t resample in its modified os so is bit perfect. If the last track played was 44.1/16 then if I switch to ARC it will resample to that rate as it believes that’s the default rate of the os. It resets to it system max on reboot though.

huuuum, that’s good to know.
I imagined it would drain some battery since it’s processing everything to that higher sample rate, but I didn’t know all that you said about what Arc would do in this case.
