Can I remove authorization for an extension and still be able to reenable/reauthorize it without reinstallation of the extension?

My Roon server comes fully installed with Roon and no OS access other than remote access that can be used by the vendor team.

There is an extension installed that I want to try to disable. I know that disabling it won’t really hurt day to day usage since for some reason it became disabled for a while and I reenabled it again after discovering so. But the settings menu only allows me to remove authorization for it and I’m worried it will completely disappear if I remove authorization, so I haven’t tried it.

My question is what is going to happen once I remove the authorization? Will it completely disappear from the extensions menu or will it again just return to a disabled state so that I can enable it again if I should want to do so? If I can I will remove the authorization, if not I won’t.

See link below for screenshot of the extension.

Hi @Yu_Wang ,

Apologies for the delayed response here and welcome to the forum! If you remove the authorization for an extension, you will need to reboot your Roon Core to get it to show again. It may also show up after some time, but I have not tested this. For example, here is the process of removing my Crestron extension:

  1. Removed extension:

  2. Once removed, Roon says no authorized extensions:

  3. I closed/re-opened Roon app (rebooting server should have same effect), and then extension re-appears and is able to be enabled:

Hope this helps!
