Description Of Issue
Hi

I have been separated from some of my devices due to Covid-19 (iMac, & iPad in France, while I’m stuck in Dubai). I was logged into Roon on iMac which I can’t access at least not before Xmas.

I just bought a Naim Uniti Atom and a pair of sinus Faber speakers and would like to get going with my Roon/Tidal/iTunes libraries.

I’ve tried to log into the Roon app with my iPad, but it gets stuck on searching for Roon Core.
How can I get started?

Thanks in advance
Sammy

Roon needs to operate on the same network segment so if you are in Dubai and your core is in France then clearly this will not work. You could load up a core setup on a locally available machine in your current location and allow the licence to deactivate and activate on the new system but unless you have your library with you or used for streaming services then you might be stuck as is.

You might search the KB pages for more specific info here https://kb.roonlabs.com

Hi @Sammy_Kayello,

@wizardofoz is correct here, for Roon to work, you would need to have both the Core and the Remotes / Audio Devices on the same network.

You can certainly install Roon on one of the PCs you have in Dubai and use it there, but you won’t be able to access the iMac library, unless you have a copy with you or use streaming services.

After setting up the new Core, on the iPad you’ll also want to press the Select A Different Core button.

@wizardofoz … Thanks so much for you reply. I have finally been reunited with my MacBook, but am having trouble reopening Roon. I get “the last time you opened Roon it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows”. When I click “reopen”< nothing happens

Might be worth reinstalling over the current install as a start. Failing that waIt for @support to chime in

Thanks again. Will give that a .

Hi @Sammy_Kayello,

Do you have any Backups of your Roon Database? Can you use these instructions to send me a set of your Roon logs via private message (click my name -> message)?
