Description of Issue

On the Macbook Pro, in the Apple Music app, you can download files in different formats. I can not access these downloaded files with the Roon app.

You mean files that you have purchased and downloaded?

Nope!!! I thought I could access the Apple Music files I downloaded locally for listening offline. It seems that is not possible. I found it difficult to figure that out. Was last minute last night I realised you can only use albums/songs you purchased on iTunes Store, and Apple Music does not work

Apple Music is limited in the way, that you have to use the Apple-Music-Playing-Library. The files are encrypted, and you don’t get the raw music data. So unlikely this will ever be integrated somewhere outside of osx.

All streaming apps, apple tidal etc, that let you download local payback, lock that content to their app only. That was how they are allowed to do this with the record labels.
