Cannot access Roon Core suddenly, where are LOGS on Linux?

Description of Issue

Everything was working fine and all of a sudden I cannot access core from Roon Remote.

I can SSH into the server, processes are all running but I Remote refuses to show core, so I cannot take a backup, get logs or do anything else, this is a very poor structure setup imho.

Please can someone tell me on Linux where logs are for Roon, as the official guide I found is wrong, there are no logs in $HOME/.RoonServer

I’ve just tried again and it’s now working…

The only other thing I did a few days ago was add a traffic route for a VPN, does Roon not allow VPN traffic??

Running Roon in a VM or Docker and the use of VPNs are not officially supported environments. It is considered Tinkering. Roon doesn’t prevent customers from experimenting with their software in unsupported environments; however, when you do so, you also take on the ongoing support and troubleshooting for that environment.

We wanted to provide a brief explanation before moving this [thread/post] to the Tinkering section. Hopefully, other customers who may also be using your environment can help you with diagnosing and resolving your issue.

If this does not work for you, then I would recommend running Roon in an officially supported environment for the stability and support you are looking for.

Sorry but I am not “tinkering”, I am simply using a VPN for all outgoing connections across my whole network, I am not touching the software at all.

Running Roon in a VM is tinkering as well now??  You support running Core on an Ubuntu install/server, who these days do you think runs a full hardware setup for a single server? That’s a ridiculous assumption.

I am a lifetime subscriber and I’ve been using this setup for years.

Roon should be able to simply tell me if there is something in your software, a login request to Roon for example that would break your software if the connection came from a VPN.

Late posting but didn’t see a reply to OP original question.

I don’t have ubuntu but logs are located here for my version of arch:

/var/roon/RoonServer/Logs
/var/roon/RAATServer/Logs

You probably know these but some others may not.

sudo journalctl -xe -u roonserver
sudo journalctl -u roonserver
sudo systemctl status roonserver
