Cannot connect Roon ARC to my Roon Core

Roon Core Machine

The core is Intel NUC 7i7BNH based Rock and library is on a Seagate 6TB HDD connected to it via USB there are nearly 4TB of FLAC files on this.

Networking Gear & Setup Details

My network set up is based on a TPlink mesh system utilising 3 x Deco P9 units throughout the home and the NUC is connected via ethernet and a 6 port switch to one of these units. I have roon remote on my android smartphone and 3 laptops: 2 W10, 1 W11. I use Nord VPN on all 3 laptops but not my phone. Hi-fi system is based around a NAD M33 and also a second system using a NAD M10.

  1. Who is your internet service provider? - Vodafone

  2. Please list the make and model of your modem and router? - Vodafone Wi-Fi Hub THG3000

  3. Do you have any additional network hardware, like additional routers or managed switches? mesh system described above

  4. Does your network have any VPNs, proxy servers, or enterprise-grade security? No, VPN on laptop used as Roon Remote only. I have tried with this switched off.

Connected Audio Devices

M33 and M10 are connected to network by ethernet.

Description of Issue -

hi just got myself a new Samsung A54 5G phone compatible with ARC so am trying to set up. When trying to set up in Roon I get the following error message:

{

“ipv6_connectivity”: {“status”:“NetworkError”,“status_code”:504,“error”:“error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined”},

“ipv4_connectivity”: {“status”:“NetworkError”,“status_code”:504,“error”:“error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined”},

“external_ip”: {“actual_external_ip”:“90.fff.iii.jjj”,“actual_external_ipv6”:“fe80:aaa:aaa:aaa:bbb:ccc:ddd:eee”,“router_external_ip”:“192.168.1.38”},

“status”: “status”: MultipleNatFound

,

“natpmp_autoconfig”: {“server_ip”:“192.168.68.1”,“found_natpmp”:true},

“upnp_autoconfig”: {“server_ip”:“192.168.68.1”,“found_upnp”:true}

}

I have tried turning of Nord VPN which is on my laptop I use as Roon Remote only but this makes no difference. Can you help please.

You have more than one NAT layer, either caused by having more than one router (an ISP router and the mesh) or possibly by the ISP itself - I have Vodafone in Germany which often provides an IPv4 address only through CG-NAT, which causes this and makes the IPv4 address not routable; I had to get a real IPV4 address from Vodafone. This is often possible by just giving them a call and asking for it (probably depends on the region one live in), or by getting a different contract that includes a real IPv4 address. (I did the latter and switched to a small business contract, which only cost a few euros more)

See here for options to try:

Hi Suedkiez, sounds like that could be the problem Vodafone hub and Tplink mesh. I will attempt your suggested fixes.

many thanks.
