Description of Issue
I need to access the data-folder to be able to install there the Codecs for radio. Tried everything I can to access it, but no success. I have also tried some W10 computers, but no luck there, either.
List of the steps taken:
enabled SMB in Windows
turned off the firewalls
tried in file manager \rock\data and \192.168.188.62\data, also tried with both to map a drive
placed the LAN cables either both on the router or switch, no effect
I have been able to map the QNAP as one drive using its IP-address and it works as a charm. Also, the browser finds Rock with no issues. What am I missing here?
Can also someone tell me, why the Codecs cant be part of the installation?
As for the problem, you may have to allow your Windows to connect to an SMB share that does not require a username/password, i.e. “Enable insecure guest logons”. Microsoft turned this off (Unauthenticated Guest Access) in some recent Windows versions because it is insecure in a corporate situation:
Note that ROCK supports SMBv2, so you don’t need to install the v1 client in Windows
Took me a while, but I got over the issue just by adding an account WITHOUT any link to Azure/AD. In other words, just a “normal” MS Account. Works like a charm, but I ran into another issue I need to now seek solution to (the Rock doesn’t recognise the ffmpeg-file).
