Hello @Marc2025 ,

Are you able to login to TIDAL’s web player (listen.tidal.com) using the same credentials? If it is working there, please try to clear your TIDAL cache:

  • Exit out of Roon/RoonServer (from taskbar)
  • Find and open your Roon database
  • Navigate to Roon/Cache
  • Move the contents of the /Cache folder elsewhere, like your desktop
  • Try restarting Roon and verify if the issue still occurs

Hi Noris, I can login to Tidal using the app and it was not a cache issue because the problem was simultanously there on my PC, on my smartphone and on my tablet.

Later today it suddenly worked again but I did NOTHING! It’s mysterious.

Regards

Marc

Today I’m again logged out. Its very annoying and I never had thT issue befoee 2.65.

Hi @Marc2025,

Logs show Roon successfully logging into Tidal’s servers on startup, but when the session attempts to renew in the background, there’s a port binding error with the authorization request to Tidal’s servers.

Do you have BitDefender, Kapersky, or another SSL-inspection security software installed on this PC? This might be intercepting the HTTPS request. A Roon update can trigger different behavior in security software because it will appear as a new executable. Try safelisting Roon’s IP or testing with temporarily disabled SSL scanning.

Also make sure that RoonServer.exe is safelisted in the Microsoft Defender firewall.

No, I don’t have and I did not install anything new in the past months. It might be a Windows Update, but that would not explain why it sometimes works and sometimes not. Firewalls either block or do not. Therefore I don’t think it has to do with any security software on my side and I think I deactivated firewall and virus software on that PC.

I have the same issue and it is very annoying!

Since a couple of weeks I had to log out of Tidal within the Roon App and re-login after each start of the Roon Server.

Now I cannot log in at all. Tidal itself (web and app) works fine, but Roon gives me an „unauthorized" error.

I am using iOS/Ipad and Grimm MU2 Roon server.

Thanks for letting us know, @Marc2025 . I wonder if this failed request could be related to your DNS. We have seen users have a better experience in the past if they change their Router’s DNS servers from the ISP-provided ones to Cloudflare DNS, Quad9 or Google DNS. Can you please give this a try and let me know if it helps?

@David8974 - Please open a new support thread so we can provide individualized assistance, though you are free to monitor the outcome of this one at the same time.

Thanks for your support norris. At the moment (last week) it works again. Tracking errors is difficult. I know that. I once was responsible for a CRM database and people in french area of Switzerland often had crashes when entering customer names but when they came with their Laptop and I tested it then it worked until I realized that my test was wrong because I did not enter french names as they did. It was characters like “é” that made the DB crash.

Nevertheless, in thIs case I did never change the DNS and it always worked before. I checked the DNS (also with LAN scan App) and I’m using the Google DNS 8.8.8.8 for Roon Core. So it should be ok.

Thanks for the update @Marc2025, keep us posted on how the next few days go. :+1:
