· Hi to Support. Using Roon server on a Linux based NUC and Ropieee as Roon Bridge on a Raspberry CM4 I cannot play any 24 bit streams from Qobuz. I have to revert back to the 16bit forced in Advanced settings to obtain a correct sound on my Esoteric N-05XD. This very unfortunate not to be able to benefit from 24-bit resolution. Until I can find a technical solution to this problem, please change my new annual subscription into a monthly subscription (so that I can cancel it anytime if no good solution is found later). Thanks a lot Best Regards. Laurent

· None. It’s a problem between Roon Server and RoPieee Roon bridge. I have already contacter Ropieee’s developer but not luck so far.
Or, if you simply want a quick fix, switch to the beta channel, since this appears to have removed the issue.
If you would like to discuss billing, I will convert this thread to a Personal Message, as this isn’t handled by technical support, and remove all correspondents. However, note that Roon will only switch you to a monthly subscription when the current annual subscriptions ends.
As a first step, please check the discussion here: recent issue, not sure if it’s DAC. In that thread, we also mention switching to the beta channel, which has reportedly avoided the problem for some users.
On the subscription side, plan changes are handled separately from technical support by the accounts team. If you’d like, we can move that part of the request into a private message so it can be handled appropriately.
If the article or beta channel does not resolve the playback issue on your setup, reply with your current Roon Server platform and the exact behavior you see when a 24-bit stream is selected, and we’ll take it from there.
Actually, the Raspberry Pi4 (CM4 8GB module to be super precise) is embedded into a LHY RPI Pro pure streamer. This unit sounds way better than using Roon direct with the Esoteric’s own streaming card.
I am all Wired in my set-up, inclusing some optical isolation with SFP cabling
Harry has been super supportive answering all my questions and providing advices, however we never managed to find the root cause(s)
Finally I stopped using RoPieee (although I really like its web UI simplicity and the quality of support from Harry !) and installed AudioLinux onto the LHY RPI Pro using HQPlayer Embedded as a playback engine on the Raspberry. Now « it just works » without any hiccup on all streams whatever the bit depth or sampling rate.
To be noted that HQPe is set to output 24-b data. I have not left On the Auto mode.
