Can’t connect to my Server, remotes or ARC

· Other ARC issues

Tell us what's going on

· Can’t play music downloaded to my phone via arc

Tell us about your home network

· On the road Trying to access music already downloaded to the phone
Server is offlone

Did you switch Arc to Offline mode, this would enable you to at least play your dl files

Hi @Michael_Marchelya, welcome back to the community.

As @AceRimmer mentioned, this sounds like an ARC offline playback question, and the key detail is whether the downloaded items were actually cached on the phone before the Server went offline.

Could you check a couple of things for us:

  • In ARC, are you switching it to Offline mode before leaving home, or are you trying to use normal online mode with the Server unavailable?
  • Do the albums or tracks show as downloaded inside ARC on the phone, and if so, do they appear in the Downloads section when you are on the road?

If they are downloaded but still will not play, tell us exactly what happens when you tap play, and whether you see any message on screen. That will help us separate an offline-mode issue from a download/caching issue.

If you can, include a screenshot of what ARC shows in the Downloads area.

Phone/ARC was switched to offline mode. Lots of albums on the phone.

To be clear, opening the ARC app allows NO options other than 1) allowing me to try to sign in which results in ROON Server Offline error or

  1. accessing the ROON home page and this discussion group

ARC won’t let me do anything except sign in and when I do that it says server offline which it has been for days. Was previously able to access all the files downloaded to the phone but that is no longer possible. No menu, no alternatives, just sign in/can’t because server offline.

Hi @Michael_Marchelya,

Thanks for letting us know. With that, there seems to be no information surrounding your devices or Roon ecosystem tied to your account admin, so we’ll need more information to better assist.

What is your Roon Server running on?
How many tracks do you have within your library?
How many tracks are you attempting to download/store on your phone?

What make/model mobile device are you using for Arc?

Are you at home, over the same wifi network when attempting this? Try rebooting Roon Server as a first step here, as well as your mobile device, and see if you’re able to re-connect.

Not sure why you don’t have this info but I purchased a ROON lifetime membership years ago. My current server is a ROON Nucleus purchased earlier this year. Remote is a an iPhone 17.

Several hundred albums were downloaded to the phone a couple of months ago and ARC has worked flawlessly until yesterday.

As mentioned earlier, I am on the road right now and cannot access the Nucleus due to power problems so it is offline.

When accessing the ROON app on the phone all I get is a page which prompts me to log in to my ROON account BUT when I do that it says “No ROON servers found.”

ZERO other options. NONE. No play button, no menu options, no enable offline mode, nothing.

Again, plenty of music has been downloaded to the phone, the Nucleus has been without power for some time and ARC has been working remotely in offline mode despite not being connected to the Nucleus. Hope this explains the situation clearly.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hello @Michael_Marchelya

To clarify Benjamin’s previous message: we can absolutely see your lifetime membership in our database. When he mentioned missing information, he meant our systems currently do not see active telemetry or diagnostic connections from your specific devices (your Nucleus and iPhone), which is expected since the Nucleus is powered off.

The issue you are experiencing with ARC forcing a login screen and hiding the offline menu is likely tied to license validation. ARC must periodically validate your account status. If it goes too long without communicating with your Nucleus or our authorization servers, the app can drop its authorized state, which unfortunately locks out access to your downloaded offline cache.

To determine exactly why this validation failed and caused the lockout, we will need to analyze the diagnostic logs from your Nucleus once you return home and restore its power.

Thank you for your message. Can you please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader? Once logs have been uploaded, please let us know so that we can check the server for your files, thanks!
