Hi Ben - I contacted technical support since the system was unusable. I had to install the latest version of Core on my NAS and then reboot the NAS to be able to sign in again using Remote. Sign-in system has clearly changed. If the Core becomes one step behind Remote in terms of updates Remote cannot then sign in, cannot tell you why and just loops you round and asking for login details and answers to checks. Not a tolerant system.
At least I am back in business but the looming annual sub payment gave me pause for thought.
I also note that Roon’s info about the NAS Core is strongly saying don’t use it use Nucleus instead. A key benefit of Roon is being able to use existing kit. It is used to say use a better NAS. Does Roon need to work on a lighter weight Core?
Thanks for the reminder. The update email says that “A single-point login for all Roon services saves time and reduces confusion”.
Well it may do if one’s Roon Core has already been updated! Should there have been a warning, or are those who still use NAS cores being ignored? It certainly is not the case if the update is needed - it all took considerable time and was very confusing!
