Can't access to files stored on external SSD (Thunderbolt)

Hello,
My library is stored on an external SSD connected to Rock Server (Thunderbolt).
When I start the server, the led od the ssd blinks and then goes out. I can’t access to the library (and can’t see the files thru data/storage.
If I disconnect the disk and reconnect it, the LED doesn’t stop blinking.
But still can’t see the music files.

Any idea?

What format is the drive. What device is running Rock.

Since when is there Thunderbolt support in Roon OS? I thought they only added USB 4 support a while back (maybe even only for UEFI boot machines also).

Rock is installed on internal M.2 drive.
External drive is EXFat. I have already seen the files, but not since I restarted the rock server

It’s been working fine for few days.
But not anymore since I restarted Rock server

Thunderbolt has been annoucend for Nucleus TITAN & Rock

I have to hard restart rock many times, and then it works…
Doesn’t seem to be very stable.
Any idea ?

If I don’t want to restart rock, can I unplug then plug the external ssd to try?

As far as i know Roon doesn’t write to external storage, so in theory you should be able to hot-plug/unplug.

Wear and tear do affect electronic devices as well mechanical… You might be seeing a slight increase in power requirements of the external drive, most likely. Pushing the handshake activity right over the edge of what the Rock device can deliver over USB.
You could try connecting the drive to an externally powered USB hub, to se if you are more successful then?

Does the drive show up in another device?
Cables can become faulty. I would try a different cable and or port. Just a thought.

I changed the cable.
I reset the BIOS.

Seems to solve the problem…
