Describe the issue

I cannot connect to roon server. I want to use my NAS (Ripnas Solid with WIN 11) as Roon Core, but it can't be found. I am accessing the NAS via RemoteDesktop from my Desktop-PC (WIN11 Pro). What can I do?

Describe your network setup

Router: AVM Fritzbox 7490

It looks as though the Roon Server on your Ripnas is not running. Can you use Remote Desktop from your desktop PC to start it? Once started, you will need to check the “Launch at Startup” option as well. See:

Good day @Peter_Sierla !

I hope you’re doing well today.

We were able to retrieve a piece of analytic data from your device and we can see in logs 2 problems recorded:

  • Your Roon Server seem to be unauthorized
  • your Roon Server version is deprecated
This means that you have to connect to your NAS via RDP or in whatever way you usually connect to it so you have Graphical interface and log in to your account and then go to settings and in tab General you have to update the installation to the latest available software version.

After you do so please let us know whether it starts working for you.

Have a nice day!

Regards.

Hi @Peter_Sierla,

If this unit runs Windows 11, please verify that RoonServer.exe and any other Roon-related processes are added as exceptions to the Windows Defender firewall list.

We’ll watch for your response. Thank you.
