Cant connect to the Roon Nucleus at my store

Good Morning. I now cant connect to the Roon player at my store. I cant even open the Roon software on my desktop or the Roon app on my phone.

When I first opened the app. It still had select Roon core and I did. Now nothing stays open. I unplugged the player and tried, same result. I re-downloaded the app for my Mac, same result.

Please advise.
Thanks.

Just looking for a response here as j have a demo scheduled for today

Hey @Paul_Sandquist,

Thanks a lot for following up on this thread — I am sorry to hear it, but it’s the best thing that you have reached out.

If I understand correctly, you are trying to have the second Roon Core on a Mac, but, the app does not stay open at all and you cannot use Roon on this device. I’m tagging our technical team, @support, so they can chime in and help.

In the meantime, can you please share the details below for this Roon Core?

Roon Core Machine

Description of Issue

Tell us about the problem you’re having in as much detail as possible. Screenshots are always appreciated!

It’s a Nucleus + serial number 94C6911B0259. You recently had it for service yo upgrade the operating system at a cost of $800.00. I have not tried it since. When it’s unplugged from the network. I can get into the room app on both devises so it’s the Nucleus +.

Question, can I just use my lap top as. the core as I’m doing at the other location fro now?

Hi @Paul_Sandquist ,

Are you able to access the Nucleus Web UI? Since the Nucleus was repaired, it’s possible it’s running an older build of Roon on it, and you would need to update to the latest Roon version to ensure you have all the latest updates.

If you are unable to access the Nucleus from your Roon Remotes, you can also do an Operating System Install from the WebUI to update to the latest Roon version. It is the button I highlighted below:

How do I access the Web UI? I do believe the operating system was updated when you had the unit. it was part of the $800 charge

@Paul_Sandquist, I removed your phone number from this post for privacy and security reasons.

You should be able to access the WebUI by typing the Nucleus IP address in a browser, or by typing http://nucleus or http://nucleus.local in a browser.

The operating system is up to date

Paul, the Roon Server is using an older version of the current releases. Roon 2.0, Build 1234 is the current version. If you move to Roon 2.0, I believe you also need to update the Roon OS to the most recent build 254.

Roon Server and Roon Remotes need to be on the same build version to ensure compatibility between the Server and Remotes/endpoints.
