Can't Create Ropieee Install

I am in the process of installing Roon on my QNAP. While waiting the firmware updates to finish, I was thinking of installing RoPiee in parallel to my RasPi HW. I cannot create installation SD as the Etcher is not accepting the SD image files downloaded from RoPieee website… I have trieid both versions for RP3 twice. If the file is not coruppted on your server, it nees to get corrupted somewhere along the way… Is there a

Is there a hash available to check the integrity of the .bin file?

I’ve moved your posts concerning Ropieee out of the Support thread and into the RoPieee category…

What do you mean by that?
What is Etcher saying?

Error: (0, h.requestMetadata) is not a function

That sounds an error message from Etcher, not something related to the image. Do you have the latest version of Etcher? What are you running? Windows?

Windows and has been working so far well with .img and .iso formats.

This was a Weekend project that did not complete, I need to take time later and reinstall Etcher if needed…

I’ll probably test first Roon server independently: I have four Volumio instances and one HifiberryOS device with music strorage on each as dlna was so unreliable. I am looking to simplify the management of my music library and make it shared. What I wanted to lear is wheter Ropiees UI would give me better browsing experience than Volumio, otherwise I can just use Volumio as the endpoint.

Thanks for your support.

Erm, what do you mean by this? Ropieee doesn’t have a “browsing experience” - it’s primarily a stripped down Linux build for automatically supporting Roon Bridge. Did you mean to write “whether Roon’s UI would give me a better browsing experience”?

Yes Geoff, that’s what I meant!

I am looking for Roon UI displayed on Raspberry Pi Official 7 inch touchscreen which I currently use for my Volumios… To rephrase: what software should I run on my Raspberry Pis as endpoints for the best Roon user experience? Or do I get the same experience using Roon through Volumio or HifiberryOS (B&O) UI?

And what is the scope of the “Roon UI” that you are looking for? It’s not possible to have the full Roon UI running on a RPi.

Ropieee offers a basic “currently playing” status with play controls, see RoPieee | Display

Okay, then Ropieee is just good enough for local remote control feedback screen.

I get more from HifiberryOS UI…
