Can't find settings/configuration option in Roon app on ASUSTOR

I previously asked this in another post, but the post had been prematurely marked “resolved” so it wasn’t getting any attention. I’m trying to get Roon Server up and running on an ASUSTOR NAS. After turning off popup blocking, I was able to launch the Roon app and select the location for the Roon database to reside. However, I can’t find anywhere that will allow me to specify where the music collection is stored. Here’s where I’m currently stuck:

In your Roon app, go to :gear: > Storage and add a Watched Folder to point to where your music collection is stored.

I’m not sure what you mean here - because the “Roon app” does not “select the location for the Roon database”…

The Roon database is held internally in the Roon Server, and is not “user selectable”.

This is what you’re looking for, I think?

To answer both responses:

  1. When I said “the Roon app”, I was referring to the Roon server app running on my ASUSTOR NAS, not the app running on iOS, etc.
  2. My question is specifically how do I go about “configuring [my] Roon Server?”. The UI for the Roon Server app running on my NAS has no configuration or settings options anywhere, that I can find.

The Roon Server (on a NAS, Windows, MacOS or Linux) does not have a UI - you use the Roon app (the one that has the UI) to configure Roon Server settings as well as Roon app settings.

Ah, OK. I ran the Roon app on my iPhone, and found the “Add folder” button. I was able to select the music location. The UI was a bit confusing, because it took me back to the screen with the “Add folder” button but there was no indication it’d already accepted the folder location I already supplied. I went ahead and clicked “Continue”, and after connecting with my Qobuz subscription, I see that it is presently chewing through the collection. Thanks for your help!

As an FYI, the phone app doesn’t have / or Can’t access all the settings. Depending on what you need/want to do, you might have to run the program on a Computer or Tablet to access everything.

Just curious what you can’t access on the Android app with regards to setting on Roon server. I run a headless linux server with Roon server on it and have done all the configuration on my phone and Chromebook using the Android app. Am I missing something?

Here is a link to a thread that describes the differences between the desktop and the tablet UI, the phone UI puts even more restrictions on what a user can do (most editing functions are disabled IIRC):

Thanks for the link, I have had a look and, yes, there is a difference, but I can live without the missing items. However, it does seem strange that the difference exists. I only run linux and Android so do not have access to Windows, or Mac OS, but as a long time linux user I am use to dealing with this kind of thing.
