Today I changed my last.fm’s username and password. (I got hacked somewhere else) I can login in last.fm-site with the new username and password. But when I try to change that in my Roon Profile it says it can’t login to last.fm.
I can login via another application (Marvisplayer Pro) with my new credentials.
Is it because my password is too long? Has Roon set a limit to the length of the password? That would be strange. Why should Roon do that?
It is the only thing I can imagine what’s happening.
Or is there something else going on? Anyone?
While it is unlikely that Roon has a specific limit on password length, it is possible that the old credentials are “stuck” or cached in your current user profile, preventing the new ones from authenticating properly.
To help us isolate whether this is a system-wide issue (like the password length) or just a glitch with your specific profile, could you please try the following test?
Create a temporary Test Profile:
Go to Roon Home Page> Click on the profiles on the top right corner of the screen.
Next to your profile name, click + New Profile.
Name it “Test” and switch to it.
Try to log in to Last.fm on this clean profile.
If it works here, we know the issue is specific to your main profile. If it still fails, then your theory about the password complexity/length might be correct.
Thnx for responding so quick. I made an test profile, but the result is the same: Failed to log in to last.fm
Btw, I use Bitwarden to copy & paste password (which I use in another app also to login, and there it succeed)
Update: It’s scrobbling. Just checked my last.fm page, and it scrobbles the music. But the error message stays. So something goes wrong, but it sends the scrobbles. That’s nice! You want to look into why I get the errormessage?
Would you kindly try to log in again, record the exact timestamp, post it here, and we will request the diagnostic data from your server to verify the issue.
