Can't play music from Roon installed on a PC sending output via USB to a external DAC

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

Wireless Gateway: Arris TG3482G, Firmware TG3482PC2_4.0p5s2_PROD_sey, on WiFi

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)

USB into PS Audio Stellar Strata Integrated Amplifier with built-in DAC - connected via USB

Description Of Issue

I can’t get any sound to output from my PC into the PS Audio’s built in DAC via USB. I’ve tried installing PS Audio’s USB drivers located at: https://www.psaudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/How-to-install-the-USB-Driver-for-PS-Audio-USB-2.pdf

Welcome to the forum! Is the PS Audio the only device affected by this issue? Do other audio zones work as expected, such as the System Output zone on your Core?

Yes, all of the other audio zones work fine including the System Output zone. The System Output zone outputs sound to my built-in laptop speakers.

Thanks for confirming that other zones are working as expected. Can you please check your firewall status on the PC?

Since you are using a Windows PC, I would verify that both Roon.exe and RAATServer.exe have been added as exceptions to your Windows firewall.

You can use these instructions to add the exceptions and the executables themselves would be located in your Database Location/Application folder path.

I would also add these exceptions to any Antivirus or other Firewall blocking applications you may have and ensure that you connected to your network via a Private network, not a Public one, see this guide for more information.

Also, have you tried multiple audio drivers for the PS DAC in Roon Settings -> Audio? Do all of them exhibit the same issue?
