Is there anyway, I can make Roon app to show samsung tablet just like Google nest speaker? I am using samsung tablet on wall as Home Assistant dashboard. I am wondering if it can be used to stream music. Thanks.
Just a silly question, but is roon app running on the tablet? And can the app see the server?
Also, is the tablet on the same IP subnet as the server?
I would like to cast from the Roon app on my phone to a Samsung tablet.
I’ve already installed the Roon app on the tablet and am able to play music directly from it. However, the tablet is mounted on the wall in Kiosk Mode, and I’d prefer to control it remotely — ideally from my phone or desktop — and have the tablet appear as a Roon audio output (speaker/zone).
Not sure similar is possible for Google displays also
Any tricks or workarounds to make the tablet behave like a discoverable speaker in Roon would be greatly appreciated.
Glad I am able to enable google nest displays. I believe it did not work before.
Only thing I need to be able to see samsung tablet in audio devices while playing. I am able to see samsung table in settings->audio as shown here.
I see devices like this. May be it is cutting off. can’t figure out scrolling down.
On the tablet in the Roon app, Roon settings, Audio page, access and open the settings for the Samsung tablet. Turn off the private zone setting.
Note: Photo from a Google search
Once done, the Samsung tablet will (should) show up in the list of zones from another Roon remote.
Excellent. It worked. Appreciate it.
