Is it possible to revert to Roon Server 2.64? I feel like my sound is worse after the latest update. Maybe it’s just my hardware, but that’s how I feel. I play music on a Qnap HS-264-8G and a Meitner MA3. I also listened via USB using a Schunyata Omega USB cable, and that’s what I mainly used. And I can’t get it to work using the ALSA protocol. I’m disgusted and disappointed. I understand that Roon needs to evolve, but do I have to be stuck with something I don’t like?

Nothing changed in Roon as far as anyone knows. It sends the same bit perfect data as ever (assuming no DSP). There are people who feel that it is worse, others who feel that it is better, and most who feel it is the same after every update.

Okay, it’s possible that the music quality is the same. It could be that my DAC is making a huge difference in sound quality due to the connection used, favoring USB, which I can’t listen to. Does anyone know how to define the ALSA protocol in the server and Roon to send music from Qnap to the DAC using USB?
What protocol do you think it is using?
