Describe the issue

In Carplay albums won't open from downloads. I can stream from my library but I don't wan't to use so much data on my phone plan. Everything else seems to work.

Describe your network setup

Apple mini, Netgear modem, Google Nest router

Hi @William_McCutchen,
Thanks for writing in to let us know about this issue. Does ARC work when you are on your home WiFi? If it does you need to manually set the port forwarding. If that doesn’t solve your problem go to your Roon settings (the gear icon) → Roon ARC and send us a screenshot of the page.

I can stream from my roon server to my phone through Roon ARC on cellular and play the albums through CarPlay. What I can’t do is play albums that are already downloaded on my phone through roon ARC and carplay. This doesn’t seem like a port forwarding issue.

Hey @William_McCutchen,

Got it, thanks for the additional information!

Can you access them and still attempt to enable playback?

Are you able to access the album via search instead of from downloads?

Lastly, could you please reproduce the issue and share the track name attempted to play? We’ll be on standby for your reply. :+1:

I have discovered that if I start an album playing from my phone while connected to CarPlay it will play, but I can’t access it directly from the CarPlay screen on my car. The albums appear but selecting them does not open them.

Hey @William_McCutchen,

Thanks for the info!

Are you able to provide more information around the make and model, as well as the carplay version you’re having issues with? It may be worth double-checking for any software updates needed for your car’s system as well.

Fixed. Deleted Arc app from phone, restarted phone, reinstalled app, downloaded new albums, and now it works fine.
