When I press on albums, etc., Roon Arc in CarPlay usually glitches. It will give an error message, which will repeat many times. Sometimes, it will eventually play.

Siri doesn’t fare much better in getting albums and songs to play. It will typically select the wrong thing.

Hey @Andrew_Stein, thanks for the details on the CarPlay glitches in Roon ARC.

Does this happen with specific kinds of content, such as TIDAL or Qobuz, or does it also happen with local content? Also, do you have a strong signal when the issue occurs?

It occurs with local content. I haven’t used it much with streaming. The reception is generally fine. The CarPlay/Roon Arc screen just keeps glitching, requiring many presses of the album or the track before it plays (if it plays at all).

Hi @Andrew_Stein,

Thank you for your posts.

You’ve had a long and arduous history with CarPlay functionality in ARC over the years, particulary with voice control, and we’re familiar with your post history. Thank you for sticking with ARC despite these frustrations.

We’ve made pronouncements about CarPlay improvements before, but they’ve mostly been incremental. More recently, we’re working on a set of significant updates to CarPlay/Android Auto functionality.

Just to be clarify, do you see any “poor connection” error messages that indicate the issue is with Tidal/Qobuz/KKBOX or your server connection? The nature of the symptoms (screen issues on the head unit) indicate this is a CarPlay issue, and one we can ideally capture and resolve with the upcoming work we’re preparing.

What is the make/model of the head unit (if it came stock with the vehicle, what’s the model of vehicle)? We’ll use this information for testing internally.

We’ll watch for your response. Thank you!

Hi. It’s a factory head unit for a 2022 BMW 740i.

I don’t see any messages about a poor connection.

Thanks very much for the help.

Thanks for that @Andrew_Stein, would you be able to capture the behavior via a video recording from your mobile device by chance?

This will be a bit tough to pin down since our team hasn’t been able to reproduce the behavior internally.

Thank you!
