CD Rips Distorted with Clicking Sound on Playback (ref#542USU)

· The issue affects *multiple/all* file formats.

Does the issue still occur with all Digital Signal Processing (DSP) disabled in MUSE?

· Removing DSP has no effect. I'm still having the same problem.

Does the issue happen with local library music, streaming service music, or both?

· *Only local library *music is affected.

Where is your local content stored?

· On the same machine where RoonServer is running, internal drive

Please try playing content of a lower sample rate (44.1kHz or 48kHz), does this work as expected?

· No, lower sample rates are still affected

What are the make and model of the affected audio device(s) and the connection type?

· Creative SB AE-7 audio card, to Cambridge Audio CXN Streamer via hard wired Ethernet

Describe the issue

CD's ripped to my Pc or Asustor AS6704T NAS are distorted by what I can best describe as a clicking sound. Downloads from streaming events are not affected and playback fine. I am using DB Power Amp ripping s/w Full license Version 30-5-2024.

1Gb LAN connecting NAS and Roon Server (Ron server runs on my Desktop AM Ryzen 5900 64Gb RAM 2TB NVME SSD)

And what are the settings that you are using in dBpoweramp’s ripper? Mine are shown below, and I do not experience this issue:

What if you play the rips with different software, clicks or no clicks?

If you try to use another app other than Roon to play these files, do you hear the same clicking sound?

Thank you for your response.
I can confirm the files playback fine on other media players such as WMP and PowerDVD. The issue appears to be when played back directly through the Roon server.
