· It seems that something has changed in the version handling. I own many CD singles with different versions, and previously each version appeared as a separate album. Now all versions are grouped under a single track, which makes it difficult to locate a specific version. These versions also no longer appear in the filter options for artist, album, or track.
Thanks for writing in and for sharing your report! Good to see you have hidden tracks and albums enabled. As a next step, let’s inspect the “Versions” tab.
If the tracks are grouped, they are likely sitting inside the “Versions” tab of the primary track.
Navigate to one of the tracks where this is happening.
Look for a Versions tab
If you see your other CD single tracks listed there, Roon has grouped them.
To fix this: You can usually click the "three dots" menu on the grouped version and select "Make Primary Version" or "Remove from Group."
They don’t appear to be grouped in the GUI, the Versions tab doesn’t show any linked releases. Using “Make Primary Version” wouldn’t really solve it either, since that would just swap which release is visible and hide the others. The issue seems to be something else I haven’t noticed before.
It feels like Roon is going out of its way to hide my collection of ripped CD singles. Finding them with Roon is next to impossible.
For my ripped CD singles, I can mark each one as ‘unidentified’. That should work around the issue. I haven’t tried that on tracks imported from Tidal.
