Description of Issue

So, this is interesting. I downloaded/purchased Janelle Monae’s the album, The Age of Pleasure and this is the artwork roon shows on the album page. It is a cropped, but distinct version of the artwork:

If I edit the album, it shows the “correct” art:

In the Edit Album tab, the Best, Roon and Prefer File options all have the full, non-cropped version of the art:

So where is this cropped version coming from?

That’s an odd issue indeed! After you made the metadata edit, have you restarted your core since then? Are you still running into this issue?

If you head into Roon Settings>General and scroll to the bottom, do you have ‘Prefer edited versions’ enabled?

Yep, the container for it restarts daily.

It is set to No.

Weird indeed, but it resolved itself a few days after this posting.

I’m on “Prefer Roon” for the artwork now and it is the more explicit artwork, but I still see the cropped version on the modal when clicking the 3 dot menu.

Seems like an issue with the artwork metadata providing a cropper version initially and maybe some caching? I don’t know, should be a fun puzzle to dig into for your team if you want to. I’m happy, everything is working and I have the correct, non-cropped version showing everywhere I want it to.
