Does the issue happen with local library music, streaming service music, or both?
· *Only streaming* music is affected.
Please select the streaming service(s) with which you're encountering playback problems.
· TIDAL
Have you tried logging out and back in again to your streaming service in Roon Settings?
· Logging out and back in had no impact, the issue remains
What are the make and model of the affected audio device(s) and the connection type?
· Roon on Windows 11 connects via wireless network to BlueSound Node. I don't think this is the issue.
Describe the issue
On the Tidal web page, I "hearted" ~10 playlists. These show up in Roon. The blue "Play now" button to play all the tracks is active for some playlists but not others. I can select an individual track for playlists with an inactive "Play Now" button. The Roon track page opens, the "Play now" button is active, and the track plays when the button is clicked.
The attached screenshot shows a playlist with the inactive "Play Now" button.
How may I fix this so that all the tracks on the playlist can be played?
Describe your network setup
Wireless Google Home mesh network. I doubt that is the problem.
We can see Roon failing to resolve individual track IDs within the playlist you’ve pasted above, “Global Sunrise.”
The first step would be to log out and back in from your Tidal account via Roon Settings → Services. Resync the Tidal account manually. If this doesn’t help, also restart RoonServer. The goal is to force Roon to re-request these tracks from Tidal rather than relying on cached data that might have gotten corrupted.
Georestricted content within a Tidal playlist can often cause Tidal playlists to be unavailable for playback in Roon. Certain tracks from the playlist might not be available in the region from which RoonServer’s IP address is geolocated when communicating with Tidal’s API. If you use a Tidal country code outside your geographic region or rely on a VPN with either Tidal or Roon, this is a potential cause.
As a last step, I recommend entering your router’s admin settings and verifying that a reliable DNS Server is assigned. We recommend Cloudflare (1.1.1.1). This will help ensure Roon can reliably resolve the addresses associated with Tidal’s API.
No. I would submit screenshots, but I can’ figure out how.
In all three images, the “Play now” button is “greyed out” and not active.
In the first image, no play button has been clicked, and no track is playing. However, each track’s “>” play button is active.
The second image shows that I have clicked on the play button for the first track, and it is playing.
When the first track finishes, the second track automatically begins playing. The third image shows the second track playing.
That is, I can play a playlist even if the playlist “Play now” button is greyed out by clicking on the play button for the first track of the playlist.
Does this explanation make sense? I can Zoom and share my screen if that would be helpful. Calendly - Raymond Peterson.
