Describe the issue

The album menu after installing roon server version 2.0 (build 1455) contains a new menu item at the bottom labeled "Ban this album" or for example "Ban 2 albums".

The last entry in this menu has been "Edit..." ever since I started using roon. This is a breaking change for me as I've spent many years editing albums by jumping to the end of the menu and selecting "Edit...". Now I have to reselect albums an un-ban them. Maybe I'll adapt, but --

Is there a way that a user can configure this menu like many other menus can be configured?

I think this is an astute observation. It reminds me of:

Hi @ezman,
Unfortunately there is not a way to rearrange the menu. However you can make a Feature Suggestions post. If it gets enough votes from other users the product team will take a look at it.

That’s too bad.

It has since occurred to me that this is a particularly poor choice to add to the menu. roon already uses a tri-state icon/button on the album details page to toggle an album from “normal” to “like” to “banned”, and then back to “normal”.

The “like” (heart) icon at the top right of the menu we’re discussing here ought to be re-implemented with the tri-state button which already has the banning feature. Then we get not only the banned option without a new menu item at the bottom, but also consistent behavior with at least one different context (album details), and possibly consistency with other contexts in roon that I’m personally not aware of.

Perhaps the approver or implementer of this new feature was unaware of the tri-state button on the album details page.

Growing a UX without causing unwanted effects is always a problem with growing a product or application. Point #2 in that article hits the nail on the head for companies like roonlabs:

Always remember that if you think you are making things 10-15% better, faster, more streamlined you are in reality making things 100% different for existing users. Note your most vocal power users will point out every single thing that got slower. Everyone else will just suffer in silence.

Points 4, 5 and 7 are applicable to this case too.
