I have one machine (Mac) that is used in a public area as a remote. In order to keep this machine from getting screwed up by innocent / malicious accidents I have it locked down pretty tight (app restrictions and “simple finder”). This works great with Roon, but today was the first day in which I tried running an update from the Roon account. The update worked fine, but the post-install failed due to lack of permissions. Ultimately I had to delete the Roon application from a privileged account and re-install it.
This wasn’t (and isn’t) a big deal, but it would be nice if the pre-install process could check that all of the required permissions are available before Roon is updated. If this is already happening then some further honing of the process is needed.
