Choosing best filesystem for Roon database

Sadly, no. I should’ve looked before I leaped. No matter, I’d use the 30GB as a boot disk when the time comes I need to switch to a larger ssd.

Symbolic Links.

Why avoid a Roon organised library.>?. I found it really helped me. Organised my 2 terrabyte collection really well…

Cause @mike said not to! LOL

I think the functionality is being deprecated?

For those that already have a well organised / groomed audio library, then using Roon’s organised folder is unlikely to yield any added value. However, there is a risk that it might rearrange that lib to something that that owner’s not so happy about esp. for albums that Roon can not identify.

For those whos libraries are not so well structured then Roon’s organised folder is a very useful features.

One my system I take advantage of both forms:

  • The main library is monitored by Roon’s watched folder … as I do not want Roon to change its structure.

  • The second “sandpit” library is a Roon organised folder … I use this to drop in new albums let Roon do its magic … then if I’m happy wish the results I move that album’s folder and file into my main watched folder.

Hope this helps.
