Chromecast Audio/Roon server issue

Guys I’ve just started using Roon again after absence and to be honest I have an Chord Mscaler and Hugo TT2 DAC which sufficiently does what I need. I just find the Chromecast audio very convenient and it sounds good enough for me for general non detailed listening.

However, I’ve noticed often when I do boot up the Roon app on Android, Chromecast is not there as a source for playback and the only way for me to find Chromecast again means having to restart the Roon server on my mini PC remotely.

Is there any way that Roon can automatically detect it when the audio equipment is restarted rather than having to restart the server every time?

What you ask for is how Roon works. Sadly there are issues related to device detection currently. So please wait until they got fixed. See also the Support section of the forum.

Many thanks. In the end I decided to get the auralic setup again and it sounds so much better.
