Classical Metadata is (still) a big mess

The only short term solution is to determine a metadata structure for yourself and rigorously implement it - both for your own music and music you incorporate into your library from streaming services (which is very easy to do with Roon).

true words - if I’d only understand Roons logic in trying to “improve” on file tag metadata…

Bug in Composition Display?

I do not understand what’s happening here… One example out of several: [image] Album is identified by Roon. Roon is telling me that tracks 4-6 are Ravels Piano Concerto in G major. Seems odd on a disc of Violin Sonatas. [image] Checking AllMusic [image] Checking my file tags [image] FILE, WORK and PART seem consistent to me Where does Roon get the idea from, that this is a total different composition? Checking Preference Settings: [image] So let’s try to change that to “Prefer Roon” …
