I used XXX software to scan my metadata and find album covers which were missing (about 5% of my collection). This program randomly replaced my album covers throughout my collection and now I have thousands of incorrect album covers displayed. Is there a way to 1) get rid of these improper covers in bulk and 2) Is there a global setting in Roon to use the Roon Covers for albums? I know how to do this on a one by one basis but not how to do a global default setting.
I use
And has been working just fine for me.

I think this should do it:
-
Go to Settings > General and set Show Hidden Tracks and Albums > No, so that My Albums displays all albums and does not group versions.
-
Go to My Albums, press Ctrl+A on Windows or Cmd+A on Mac to select all. Click the Edit button:
Click Edit in the menu and then Metadata Preferences and then:
By the way, applying edits to several selected albums in bulk can often be handy in other cases as well. (You can select multiple individual albums (Ctrl/Cmd+Click on PC/Mac, long press on mobile) and on PC/Mac you can also select whole ranges with Shift+Click)
Suedkiez,
Thanks! That did the trick. I was unaware of the Cmd A global command.

You can also (in other cases where it is useful):
- Start a multiselection by a long left click or a right click on an album (or equivalent an artist, a track, âŚ)
- Top left, there is a menu saying â1 Selectedâ. Open it to select all (which is the same as Cmd+A) or none.
- Alternatively, still with the one album selected:
- Add other albums to the multiselection by pressing Cmd and clicking them (or, alternatively, right-clicking them)
- Select a range by pressing Shift and clicking an album. This will select the whole range between the first selected album and the one you Shift+Click-ed
- You can select multiple ranges at the same time:
â With the range still selected as in the above point, start another multiselection like in step 1) above, i.e., a long left click or Cmd+Click on another album
â Finish the range with another Shift+Click. You now have 2 ranges selected.
â Repeat as needed.
You can now make edits in bulk (as far as such edits make sense in bulk)
Suedkiez,
Thank you very much for your clear directions. They helped me a lot. I have another question if you donât mind giving some additional help. I have many partial albums in my collection each with some of the songs in the album. For example, one album will be listed and displayed twice, each one with half of the songs in the album. Is there an automated way in Roon to consolidate these partial albums into a single album containing all of the songs in each partial album? In essence, Iâm looking for a âmergeâ function command or procedure.
TIA!
Ron Compton
Not automated, but:
What @Geoff_Coupe said.
But itâs a bit weird if there are many. Most of the time they should be recognized as one album automatically. You can always merge them, but maybe you can avoid it byâŚ
- Make sure that the file tags are consistent in all tracks, in particular artist, album title, and track numbering.
- If you copy files over the network, in particular large numbers, it may help to quit the RoonServer process before copying. Then restart it after the copying is finished. This is even more important in case you rip CDs directly into Roonâs watched folder. By quitting the RoonServer, you ensure that Roon sees the whole album at once, rather than one track after another appearing in the watched folder, which can lead to misidentification and the splitting up that you experience.
I primarily (though not always) have this on âwell taggedâ (as in multiple artists / credits) releases that do not exist in any of Roonâs metadata sources. For whatever reason, it seems as though in these situations the album_artist tag is ignored, leading to a number of oddly grouped âalbumsâ in my library representing the single release.
How do you delete incorrect images?
