Quick question: am I able to combine these tracks into a single multi-part work? It is not a local album but a Qobuz album added to my library, so I cannot use file tagging (WORK/PART tags). I like that I can change a lot of the album and track metadata even for streaming service albums once they are in my library, but I have not figured out how to do this multi-part work assignment (if it is even possible).
If manually identifying against an alternative release doesn’t work, try unidentifying the album altogether and using “basic file information” instead. Often this is the only way to properly group compositions with streamed content as there is no work/part editing. Of course you will loose the roon sourced metadata, but most of it can be manually re-edited back in, including album art, composers, artists, recording dates/location etc. I do this all the time where it is a recurring issue with Classical content.
Thank you! That worked, now I can finally heart the complete multi-part work instead of the separate parts.
As can be seen in your screenshot the first track (4:45) is not properly included in the multi-part work due to the fact that it has no subtitle/part name. When I changed the track title to “{Work}: {Part}” (in this case “Cassandra Gemini: I”) it automatically included it into the multi-part work.
I am not completely sure about this. But I think that hearting a work means that you give honours to the work (as part of a composition) and not to this particular performance, while hearting the separate parts does honour the performance.
I think you’re right, I have a playlist “Favorite tracks” which is based on hearted tracks. As you can see in my screenshot above, the work “Cassandra Gemini” is not added to the playlist, whereas the first album track which also has a heart, is.
