Compatibility with Aurender

Hi StringsForEver,

Sorry for the much delayed posting. With the N20 connected by my DA-07 via Coaxial connection, Roon shows bitrates up to 768K and DSD all the way to DSD512, but the Coaxial and Toslink inputs only support up to 192K, so irregardless what Roon upsample you set it will only max at 192k on the DA-07. This known and documented as correct by Luxman. This what I am currently using between the N20 and DA-07.

Now if you use the N20 USB connection to the DA-07, you can upsample to 768K via Roon, but not DSD, there are no DSD bitrate options present. And here is my problem posted earlier to Roon/Aurender - the recent Conductor 4 App will not allow USB connections from the N20 to stream DSD to the DA-07. The conductor app says the DAC is not compatible and will not allow the setting to be enabled. But I do know that the DA-07 supports DSD input on the USB port. On my previous Auralic Aries G1, Roon would support upsampling from the Aries G1 to my same DA-07 up to DSD256, if I recall and it sounded amazing. Substiuting the Aries with the new N20 no longer allowed DSD streaming to the same DAC within the DA-07. I hope that they can fix this bug in the N20/Conduction app soon. Hope this helps after the long delay. Regards…

I am 100% utlizing Roon on my N20 daily search and play activities. I only use the Conductor app for upgrades and device mgmt. Don’t have an answer for you… Thanks…

Roon team - any new status or indication that this will be fixed soon in any upcoming release notes?

Again need the Conduction app to allow DSD streaming from the N20 to a Luxman DA-07 on the USB port. The Luxman does support native DSD streaming into its USB port. It worked fine on my previous Auralic Aries G1 via Roon upsampling on the same DA-07 DAC USB input port. The Conductor app won’t allow the Native DSD option to be enabled - that is the bug.

Kevin, forward your findings to Aurender in their app. The more users do this, they finally wake up to the fact that something is really wrong.

Thank you for the info Kevin!

I am currently using a Luxman NT-07 with Luxman DA-06 while waiting for my DA-07X to come in, hopefully this week or next week.

I want to replace the NT-07 with a A30 but wonder what the results will be in Roon.
Things like:

  • Will I be able to stream native DSD to the DAC?
  • How will I see both the built-in DAC and USB-connected DAC in Roon?
  • Will I be able to put both the built-in DAC and USB-connected DAC in fixed volume mode while still having variable volume control for the headphone amp?

I am not upsampling but could you post a screenshot of what you get in the audio- and advanced audio options of Roon?
Here is a shot of what I get with the NT-07, it streams DSD to the DAC but I have no option to choose between native/DoP/PCM, so not sure what it does?

Thanks!

Hi Roony,

That is the problem, I am NOT getting the DSD option to display in MUSE as you’re showing in your screen snapshots with the N30.

I have reinstalled Roon, Conductor, several times and power cycled my N20, Luxman D-07x and Roon core many times, with no resolution. In your example what DAC is the N30 connected to?

What you are displaying is exactly what I saw when the Auralic Aries G1 was installed. So I know the Luxman DAC works and accepts DSD upsampling from MUSE. In this present case, the N20 does not see the Luxman D-07X as DSD capable. Try that scenario again connected to a current Luxman DAC/SACD (D-07x) player if possible.

If I am missing something here, I don’t think so… You confirmed that connected to a DAC that it likes it’s possible at least with an N30.

The first picture with the N30 I got from Aurender after they got a support mail from me because I had exactly the same with my N20 as you. The second picture is that of my N20 after they logged in to my N20. Send a support ticket via the Aurender app, leave your N20 and the DAC on and Aurender will solve the problem. In my problem I also added your comment in the mail. Try this now, it will save a lot of annoyance.

HI Roony,

I just submitted a support ticket via the IPAD/APP on the issue and I did reference your problem and resolution in the text as well. I have my N20 on and Luxman D-07 on and the USB input selected. So hopefully they can resolve my situation remotely as well.

Really looking foward to streaming DSD again - now with the N20. Just purchased a nice Otari reel to reel deck to start recording some favorite DSD music albums once I get passed this. I’ll try to repost one more time if/when Aurender resolves the problem.

Thanks, Kevn
