completely black screen when starting up. uninstalled and reinstalled same issue.

Step 1. Delete any current Roon installers you may have downloaded

Step 2. Uninstall Roon

Step 3. Type %localappdata% in the search window of your Windows taskbar. You should be transported to your “Local” directory.

Step 4. Delete these directories: RAATServer, Roon, RoonGoer, RoonServer

Step 5. Reboot
Step 6. Download the latest build of Roon, install and give it a try again.

Thanks for writing in to ask us about this issue. I agree the @Singleton that reinstalling would be a good first step. Our system is unable to see your Roon server so if you can tell us what your Roon server is running on we can give you more specific instructions.
Additionally can you please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader?
