Description of the issue

This album was not recognised in my ripping program dBpoweramp CD Ripper. So I filled up the metadata myself. The composer as well.

Why does ROON not use that?

Thanks a lot.

Have you tried changing the import settings to Prefer Files for the Composer credits?

Sometimes Roon will not react to tag changes. If you get to the point where you’ve tried everything, try this:

  1. Backup the subject folder to somewhere other than your import location.
  2. Delete the original folder.
  3. Double check your Library / Import Settings, particularly the Composer source option.
  4. Go to Library / Clean Up Library, and clean up the deleted files to remove any hint of the album’s previous existence.
  5. Move the backup copy to the import folder for re-importing.

This almost always results in your changes being reflected in the Roon webpages. Good luck!

Thanks I try and will report.

Jut seen. The composer option does not exist here:

Have you set the show composer credits to all in settings?

Your album is unidentified with no genres, and by default Roon does not show composers for genres other than classical and jazz.

Roon is seeing your composers because track 7 shows other compositions, which only occurs if the composer is known.

The composer setting is farther down the window, uder Track Settings:

I cannot see the composer credits.
The album is genre classical.
Do not understand anything.

The trick with classical albums is to use a classical genre, then the composer will always be brought forward. No need for the clumsy “show more composers” setting.

You say your album is Genre=Classical. Do you mean in the world, or in your tags? If in your tags I observe that Roon is not set to use them. You have to tell Roon to use your genre tags as well as its own.
