what a friggin pita - i can't even begin to articulate how much of a hassle this is, then only to find an article about arc that tells me i could expose all my data if I incorrectly do something wrong w a port. i need a phone call, w a patient person.
Kevin you can always use a service like TailScale to take the need away from running UPNP or creating a port forward. If you get it wrong then there can be consequences.
Roon do try to make it easier through the use of UPNP setup, but having that enabled (which it is by default on most routers) so almost anyone with a networking background would disable this immediately.
Maybe you could spend some time to browse the forums and read a bit of information on this.
Hi @kevin_mulvey,
Thanks for reaching out to us to ask about this issue. As @Michael_Harris stated if you are concerned about using port forwarding we do offer the option of using tailscale to connect instead. In fact most of our users find that easier than using port forwarding as well. Please give that a try and let us know if you run into any issues.
