Just received open box nucleus plus. Connected as described. Remote does find Roon OS Device Vers1. Entering system status I try to reinstall operating system. It starts UPDATING AND REINSTALLING. Then it tries to do so for a long time and gives me the error message that the internet connection is not working. Which really does not make sense. I can reboot and and turn off. Can you help please.
Michael, welcome to the forum. Just a user here, but what versions of the Roon OS and Roon Server are/were your Nucleus using? Did you reinstall the OS or the Roon Server, or both?
Hi Michael, I take it you have plugged it into Ethernet and you can see that the lights are showing that Ethernet is active.
You could plug a monitor into the HDMI port and see what IP address it has got.
Yes, Ethernet for core and now iMac as remote. Also hardwired.
i did not reinstall anything. Should I ?
Michael
So that looks like it is ready to log into it with your Roon account. You can then update the Roon buil in settings->About
Roon often recommend changing the DNS server from your router to Google (or something else) so you could try 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 if you don’t like Google
The current version of Roon OS is Version 1.0 (build 227) so I would definitely reinstall the Roon OS. Another concern is the missing codecs, which should not be missing if the Nucleus was shipped directly from Roon. You are receiving an IP address for the Nucleus, are you able to reinstall Roon OS? Sometimes this takes awhile to download and reinstall on the Nucleus.
That’s not possible. Roon remote doesn’t find it as core
As said it was an open box from Roon directly.
As said in beginning I can not reinstall.
Are you using the web interface to do the reinstall?
if you can access the nucleus under the settings general and disconnect the mac core and then select the nuclues and deauthorise the mac - then go into settings again and under about try to do the upadte there also.
I can not make it core. It is t found
I find it when clicking on bottom link “configure Roon is…” but it is not found when I look for core.
Can you type 192.168.1.29 in a web browser to get to the Web interface of the Core you showed above?
Yes, and click “Reinstall” on the Roon OS section. That needs to be updated to 1.0 Build 227 as a first step.
