Roon doesn't officially support Virtual Machines due to the inherent complexity and range of settings available.

· I'll continue troubleshooting with a standard environment. Please take me to the next question.

You mentioned a mesh network in your setup. Certain common mesh networks might require slight reconfiguration to support Roon.

· Orbi

· I still need help.

Describe the issue

I wrote a .plist file to stop Adobe Acrobat pro from constantly bugging me to update Adobe and put it in /library/Preferences. It works like a charm to stop Adobe but for reasons unknown, also prevents my Roon Remote on my desktop from connecting to the Roon Server. AFAIK, nothing in the PLIST should have anything to do with Roon.

Describe your network setup

Orbi Mesh Router, with Roon Music server connected via ethernet, and desktop connected to the router by ethernet. The loss of connectivity is definitely due to the PLIST. When I delete it and reboot, Roon connects fine on my Desktop. When I put the PLIST file back in and reboot, Roon will not connect.

For those really technical folks, here is the PLIST file that I created and copied to /library/preferences:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Hi @Philip_Stillman,

If the PLIST file is indeed saved broadly to /Library/Preferences' or another user- or root-level folder, the OS is probably interpreting bToggleWebConnectors` or similar as system-wide network configuration changes.

One way or another, this PLIST is definitely creating network configuration changes that are well outside of Adobe Acrobat. As a test, place the file in a subfolder scoped specifically to scoped to Adobe-only, eg. ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.acrobat.plist or /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/<Version>/Preferences/.

the file, which I uploaded as part of my help request, keeps getting translated here, FYI. It is called com.adobe.acrobat.Pro.plist. I can try to put it in the Application Support folder and see what happens . . . Thanks for that suggestion. I wonder if there is a way to narrow the “bToggleWebConnectors” so it would not be a system-wide network configuration change but limited to Adobe. As far as I can tell, it doesn’t interfere with anything else on the desktop, such as internet, accessing my music server (through Finder on my Desktop) or network server.

Hi @Philip_Stillman ,

If that doesn’t work, perhaps the below thread might help, though it does sound like the list is impacting more than just Adobe.

Thanks for that suggestion in the Reddit link. I will be back in my office in a couple of days and I will try to edit the plist as recommended in the link. I will post back here to let you know if it works. But yes, the command is definitely affecting more than just Adobe. It is blocking roon from my desktop as well.
