Connection Failure with Ropieee XL on Raspberry Pi 4 (ref#EQWYBU)

Describe the issue

I’m trying to set up Ropieee XL on a RP4 with an external Cambridge Audio DAC. I can’t get beyond the ‘Connection Failure’ screen, which reports that the Roon Core can’t be found and the remote extension needs to be enabled. I’ve tried installing an OSMC remote and dongle but Ropieee doesn’t recognise it. I’m stumped. Any suggestions?

Describe your network setup

My router is a Vodafone provided Super WiFi 6E. Range extenders are Vodafone Boosters. Switches and hubs are Netgear.

Did you click on Roon - Settings - General - Extentions and enable the RoPieee extension?

See the attached two screenshots, which hopefully answer your query. Any further clues?

So you have enabled the extension but are still seeing the ‘connection failure’ screen?

Can you send me feedback? You can find that option on the ‘advanced’ tab.

Hi Harry,

Yes, I can find the enabled extension on the ‘Extensions’ page in Roon, and the software reports that it’s enabled, but I still can’t get beyond the ‘Zone Not Found’ error page on Ropiee. I’m stumped. Any further clues?

Can you send me feedback?

Yes, I’ve now found it. I was looking on Roon, not Ropieee. (duh!).

BTW…I can’t find the DAC or OSMC remote in Ropieee. Is something wrong with my USB connections, do you thinks. Any clues?

Regards,

Nick C.

So… do you have an ID for me?

Yes, I’ve found the number:

8a990b9ebc1b6e6c

Thanks for your patience!

Nick C.

Hi Nicholas,

you did not configure your zone to be displayed: that’s also what the ‘Zone Not Found’ screen is saying.

So go to the display tab in RoPieee and provide the zone that you want to display. That will do the trick.

Thanks
